THAT'S FAIR ENOUGH

Here’s a little about the band:

I started this band as a side project, but once I got some friends involved, the music turned out better than I could have ever expected. So now it’s turned into my MAIN PROJECT! Seems logical I guess.

The goal has always been to create music that blends some favorite sounds of Indie Rock from the mid 2000s, with southern rock guitar as well. Here are some bands myself and the guys love:

Phoenix, The Black Keys, Guster, Midlake

The Arcade Fire, The Allman Brothers Band

My Morning Jacket, and the list goes on...

Old friends

Myself, Dean (drummer), and Eric (guitar) have been friends a long time. From around 2009 - 2012 our respective bands (The Floorwalkers and Red Wanting Blue) toured together around the Midwest. Both based out of Columbus, OH.

Everyone who played on this record with me is an old friend. I've been in the Columbus music scene with all of them.

I played in The Floorwalkers and Nick D & The Believers from 2004-2016, and we played many live shows across the US. Our goal with Kid Mammoth is to do the same!

THERE ARE TWO ON THIS DELUXE VERSION OF "PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE"

One song is a cover of Billie Eilish "When the Party's Over" that we recorded last year. The other is a live-in-studio version of “Heartless”, the final song on our EP.

The goal with the Billie cover was to completely flip the song on its head, and take it from a very slow vocal harmony song, and turn it into an indie rock song.

“Heartless” Live-in-studio was done in Jan '24 at the last minute. I realized all the guys that played on it would be in town (Columbus, OH) at the same time. Tom, who played drums on the studio and live version, tours as a drum and guitar tech for a number of bands (Avett Bros, Kacie Musgraves, Fleet Foxes) so he tends to be hard to nail down.
